Compendium of Zhouyi Diagrams

The original work does not specify its compiler.

According to textual research in Liu Shipei’s Notes on Reading the Daoist Canon, it should be a compilation by scholars of the Southern Song Dynasty.
Compendium of Zhouyi Diagrams
Comprising three volumes, it is included in the Spiritual Diagrams category of the Dongzhen Section of The Daozang.

This book collects various Zhouyi diagrams created by scholars of the Northern Song Dynasty and compiles them into a single volume.

The diagrams are excerpted from the works of Zhou Dunyi, Zheng Dongqing, Liu Mu, Shao Yong, Hong Mai, Chen Tuan, Zheng Hesa, Guan Ziming, Guo Jing, scholars surnamed Li and Chen, as well as anonymous authors, totaling 114 diagrams. Each diagram is accompanied by explanatory notes from various scholars. Rooted in the five elements theory, this compilation serves as a key reference for understanding the framework of diagram-based Zhouyi studies in the Song Dynasty, which is an important branch of Taoism -influenced traditional Chinese philosophy.
