The compiler is unknown; the text was probably compiled in the early Ming Dynasty.
In four volumes, it is included inThe Daozangas a supplementary compilation.
This anthology collects dozens of poems and proses in praise of the True Lords of Boundless Grace and Divine Salvation (namely Xu Zhizheng and Xu Zhi'e), including six stone inscriptions, nine memorials and epistles, nine prefaces, petitions and postscripts, as well as dozens of poems. The book contains texts written by Yuan scholars such asRecord of the Lingji PalaceandRecord of the Reconstruction of the Lingji Palace, together withPetition for the Reconstruction of the Lingji Palaceof the 8th year of the Yongle reign (1410) andRecord of the Divine Beauty of Ao Peakof the 9th year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty, which recount the entire process of the construction and renovation of the Lingji Palace during the Yuan and Ming dynasties.
It also preserves poems and proses composed by a Director of the Ministry of Revenue in the Renzi year of the Xuande reign (1432). Therefore, this book must have been compiled afterElegant Literary Works of the Xu Immortals, reflecting the actual situation of the veneration of the Xu Immortals in the early Ming Dynasty.
