The Imperial Daoist Hymnals FULL NAME IS
Imperially Composed Taoist Musical Scores of the Great Ming
Originally anonymous.

Judging from its content, it was presumably compiled by Taoist priests by imperial order during the Yongle reign period of the Ming Dynasty.
Consisting of one scroll, it is included in The Daozang (Taoist Canon), under the Memorial Category of the Dongshen Section.
This book compiles three sets of musical scores for Taoist fasting and sacrificial rituals, namely Musical Scores for Hymns and Eulogies at Ritual Altars, Musical Scores of the Benevolent and Miraculous True Lord of Universal Grace and Musical Scores of Xuanwu Emperor. Each set contains several hymns and lyrics in praise of deities. Among them, Musical Scores for Hymns and Eulogies at Ritual Altars is annotated with gongche notation beside the lyrics, while the other two sets only record the tune names and lyrics without musical notations.
