The Lord of the Dao Speaks the Wonderful Scripture of Resolving Karmic Wrongs and Redeeming the Departed
The author is unknown, and the text is presumably a work by Taoist priests during the Sui and Tang dynasties.
The scripture asserts that the destitute souls of hell and hungry ghosts endure all manner of torment and punishment day and night, all because of the Ten Heinous Crimes, Five Rebellious Acts, disloyalty, filial impiety, cruelty, lack of compassion, destruction of creatures and killing of lives they committed during their mortal lives. The Lord of the Dao preached this Wonderful Scripture of Resolving Karmic Wrongs and Redeeming Sins for all sentient beings. If pious men and women observe strict vegetarian diets in tranquility, burn incense and perform Taoist practices, and recite this scripture repeatedly at the six daily periods, they will receive the blessing of the Perfected Ones, have their karmic wrongs resolved and sins redeemed, and each attain transcendence and ascension.
