The Tripartite Canons Liturgical Vestment Code FULL NAME IS

Text of the Disciplinary Precepts for the Ritual Robes of the Three Caverns

Compiled and transcribed by Zhang Wanfu, a Taoist priest of the the Tang Dynasty.
In one single volume, it is included in the Precepts Category of The Dongshen Section of The Daozang.

This text is an excerpt transcribed from the Taoist scripture Treatise on the Ritual Robes, Inquired by the Celestial Master. The scripture purports that the Supreme Lord bestowed ritual robes and ritual instruments upon Zhang Daoling, the Celestial Master, and expounded to him the distinctions between the ritual robes worn by immortals and true beings of various ranks. The Supreme Lord also enunciated forty-six disciplinary precepts to the Celestial Master, stipulating the rules and prohibitions for Taoist practitioners on wearing, taking off, crafting and storing ritual robes. It is stated that anyone who acts against these disciplinary precepts, refuses to wear the prescribed ritual robes when required, or wears unauthorized robes shall "be subject to the soul examination by the Four Administrations, with one thousand two hundred merits deducted from their lifespan".
