Dao De Jing, Kapitel 25:
„Die Menschheit folgt der Erde,
die Erde folgt dem Himmel,
Was ist das Tao „der Natur folgen“ im Taoismus?
der Himmel folgt dem
Dao,
das Dao folgt der Natur.“
Heshang Gong kommentiert:
„Die Natur des Dao ist spontan; es hat nichts, dem es folgen muss.“
Die wesentliche Natur des Dao ist es, spontan zu sein und „Nicht-Handeln“ als sein Prinzip zu haben.
Das Dao erzeugt alle Dinge natürlich und ohne Anstrengung,
nicht kontrolliert durch den Willen eines persönlichen Gottes.
