The Celestial Peacock Dharma King Scripture Full Name is
The Supreme Primordial Heavenly Lord Speaks the Scripture of the Peacock King, the Holy Mother Moon Empress, commonly abbreviated as The Scripture of the Peacock King.
Its author is unknown. Compiled roughly during the Yuan or Ming Dynasty, it was included in The Daozang’s supplementary collection, the Xu Daozang (Continued Daozang).

This scripture was composed by Taoist priest s of the Zhengyi Dao (also known as Celestial Master Daoism). According to the postscript by Zhang Guoxiang, the Celestial Master of Zhengyi Dao, recorded at the end of the text: the original scripture was preserved on Wudang Mountain and discovered by Supervisor Li of Taihe Zixiao Palace in a cave on Self-Sacrifice Cliff. Most of its content consists of repentance, prayer, and disaster-averting rituals recited by Taoist priest s of the Zhengyi tradition.
The first volume contains the Invocation Prayers of the Peacock Scripture, including rituals of musical accompaniment, title proclamation, sacred invocation, scripture presentation with supplications, and recitation initiation. In these rituals, invocations are made to Three Pure Ones, the Holy Father and Holy Mother, the Jade Emperor Heavenly Lord, as well as deities such as Zhenwu and Wenchang. The scripture also purports to record the Supreme Primordial Heavenly Lord expounding the divine text, declaring: "The single Scripture of the Peacock King can safeguard the nation and redeem mortal beings; chanting this sacred text dispels calamities and tribulations, and unfolds boundless compassion to deliver all living beings".
The middle volume details the Ritual Canon of Invocation Prayers of the Peacock Scripture. First, the Master of the Qing (Percussion Instrument) leads the chant of the sacred epithet "Heavenly Lord of Renewed Life and Restored Destiny", followed by a purported convocation of all celestial immortals and true sages by the Supreme Primordial Heavenly Lord, who bids them *"to listen to The Dao, propagate the teachings, and relieve the sufferings of mortal beings"*.
The third volume includes the Self-Recitation Text of the Peacock Scripture. First, the Master of the Qing leads the chant of the sacred epithet "Heavenly Lord of Eternal Life and Life Protection", then the Supreme Primordial Heavenly Lord is said to summon immortals and true sages from the Three Realms and Ten Directions to assemble once more, listening to the exposition of life-prolonging and death-redeeming methods as taught in The Scripture of the Peacock King.
The three volumes form a coherent whole, with their core purpose centered on reciting this sacred scripture to pray for disaster dispelling, lifespan extension, national protection, and the well-being of the people.
