The Laojun's House-Blessing Scripture 太上老君说安宅八阳经

Based on the name taboo conventions recorded in the text, it should have been compiled in the early Northern Song Dynasty.

The text consists of one fascicle and is included in the Scripture Texts Category of the Cave Spirits Division in the Daoist Canon (Daozang).

The scripture asserts that when ordinary people build or renovate their residences, they may disturb the Dragon Gods and offend various evil influences. In such cases, reciting this scripture in rotation can propitiate these deities and evil forces, preventing them from inflicting harm. It also states that chanting this scripture can cure illnesses, strengthen the body, safeguard farmland and sericulture, and bring boundless merits and virtues.
