Le Liu Baiyun 刘白云

Liu Baiyun était originaire de Jiangdu, dans le district de Yangzhou, sous la dynastie Tang . Issu d'une famille aisée, il aimait faire l'aumône aux pauvres et aux nécessiteux.
On raconte qu'il rencontra un jour sur le marché un moine taoïste nommé Le Zichang, qui lui enseigna les écritures taoïstes et lui offrit des ouvrages s'y rapportant. Liu Baiyun pratiqua le taoïsme selon les méthodes décrites dans ces livres et acquit ainsi le pouvoir d'invoquer et de contrôler les esprits et les dieux, de métamorphoser toute chose et de commander aux nuages et à la pluie. Plus tard, il atteignit l'illumination, et l'on ignore ce qu'il devint ensuite.
