The Sequential Explanation of Dao De Jing
The author is unknown.
Comprising two volumes, it is included in the Yujue (Jade Commentary) category of the Dongshen Section of the Daozang (Daoist Canon).

The scriptural text of this work is based on the stone inscription version from the Longxing Temple in Suizhou of the Tang Dynasty. Jiang Xichang, a scholar of modern times, noted in his Laozi Jiaogu (Textual Research on the Laozi): "The Suizhou Stone Stele has not been recorded by any epigraphist, and the author of Cijie cannot be traced either. This stele owes its survival to Cijie, making it extremely precious." In the author’s preface, it is stated that the annotations "do not follow the works of others, but form a style of their own".
The annotations briefly expound the essence of the scripture and occasionally collate the textual differences between the Suizhou Stone Stele version and other versions.
