Tai Shang Dong Xuan Ling Bao Mie Du Wu Lian Sheng Shi Miao Jing (The Supreme Mysterious Spiritual Treasure Wonderful Scripture of Extinguishing Mortality, Five Refinements, and Reviving Corpses)
As one of the ancient Taoist Lingbao Scriptures, it was probably compiled in the late Eastern Jin Dynasty to the early Southern Dynasties.

It was already recorded in Lu Xiujing’s Lingbao Scripture Catalog (Lingbao Jing Mu).
Consisting of one volume, it is included in the Benwen (Original Text) category of the Dongxuan (Mysterious Grotto) Section in the Daozang (Taoist Canon).
In addition, there are two Tang-dynasty manuscripts unearthed from Dunhuang (catalog numbers P2865 and S298), which differ considerably from the Daozang version in textual content.
This scripture is pseudonymously attributed to Yuanshi Tianzun (Primordial Heavenly Lord), who is depicted as preaching to immortal beings such as the Upper Wisdom Boy and the Wheel-Heaven Boy. Its core content focuses on Taoist rituals for delivering the deceased, specifically the practices of "pacifying corpses, subduing spirits, safeguarding souls, and registering divine essences".
The scripture contains five talismans of the Five Patriarchs, known as the "Heavenly Scripts for Pacifying Spirits and Subduing Deities of the Five Directions". When Taoist priests submit memorials, write talismans, and recite incantations in accordance with the prescribed methods, they can invoke the flying divine beings of the Five Directions to pacify and guard the deceased, enabling the souls to ascend to the Heavenly Mansion and the physical remains to rest in eternal peace.
