The Unseen Merit Edict Illustrated Edition FULL NAME IS

Illustrated Annotations on the Treatise on the Hidden Virtues of Emperor Wenchang

Compiled and recommended by Zhao Rusheng of the Qing Dynasty.

It consists of four scrolls and is one of the annotated versions of The Treatise on the Hidden Virtues of Emperor Wenchang.

The book was completed in the jihai year of the Kangxi reign period of the Qing Dynasty (1719).

For each line of the original text, the book first provides exegetical annotations to explain its essential meaning and then expands on the implications. It further supplements ancient stories as illustrative examples, with each story accompanied by a corresponding illustration. The integration of text and images greatly enhances its readability.

This work is included in the Precepts and Morality Books Section of the Non-canonical Taoist Texts.
