Xing Xuying était une figure du début de la dynastie Tang .
Il a servi comme Weiyi Shi (un fonctionnaire taoïste chargé de l'étiquette rituelle et de la discipline) du Dahongdao Guan ( temple taoïste de Dahongdao).
En 704, la quatrième année de l'ère Chang'an, sous le règne de l'impératrice Wu Zetian, il reçut l'ordre, par décret impérial, de célébrer conjointement avec Ruan Xiaobo et d'autres le Jinlu Grand Zhai (un grand rituel taoïste de prière, de bénédiction et de purification spirituelle) au temple taoïste Daiyue Guan, sur le mont Tai (la Grande Montagne de l'Est).
