The Lingqi (Command Flag) is a flag used by the high priest to give orders on the ritual altar. It is triangular in shape, with a yellow flag surface edged with serrated red borders, and a yellow streamer with red edges attached. The flagpole is generally made of rattan.

The words "Chìzhào Wànshén" (Imperially Summon All Gods) are written on the Lingqi. It is also a symbol of power. There are five Lingqi corresponding to the five directions: east, south, west, north, and center. The one for the east is cyan, the south red, the west white, the north black, and the center yellow.
