The Four Saints' Fortune-Cleansing Scripture FULL NAME is
The Wonderful Scripture of the Four Sages for Extending Blessings and Purifying Calamities of the Supreme Nine Heavens
The author is unknown. It was probably compiled during the Song Dynasty.
The text consists of one fascicle and is included in the Scripture Texts Category of the Cave of Truth Division in the Daoist Canon (Daozang).

The scripture is purportedly preached by the Yuanshi Tianzun (Primeval Lord of Heaven). It states that all sentient beings suffer various hardships due to their greed for wealth and treasures, self-serving deeds that harm others, duplicitous words and deeds, and unrestrained jealousy—all of which attract evil demons to bring affliction and plunge them into unnecessary suffering.
Out of compassion for all beings, the Yuanshi Tianzun expounds the Heaven-penetrating Incantation of Prayer, Blessing, Longevity, Auspiciousness and Disaster Purification of the Four Sages and the Incantation of the Four Metropolises, and also imparts the True Talismans of the Titles of the Four Sage True Lords.
If sentient beings encounter urgent troubles, they can burn incense facing north, concentrate their minds in quiet contemplation, recite the texts with sincere reverence, or affix the true talismans. Upon doing so, the Four Sages will immediately lead their celestial troops to dispel disasters and eliminate misfortunes. Those who recite this scripture ten thousand times shall attain the state of "dwelling in the immortal palace and uniting with the Dao".
The "Four Sages" referred to in the scripture are the Four Great Marshals venerated in Song Dynasty Taoism:
- Marshal Tianpeng of the North Pole
- Marshal Tianyou of the North Pole
- Marshal Yisheng Heisha of the North Pole
- Marshal Wudang, the True Warrior of You Sheng of the North Pole
