Lingbao Sect
A Taoist school formed by the transmission of the Lingbao Scriptures.
The ancient Lingbao Scriptures were passed down from the end of the Han Dynasty to the Jin Dynasty, continuously expanding and multiplying in content.

Zhengao Xulu (Preface to True Declarations) states: "Ge Chaofu compiled the Lingbao Scriptures, and their teachings spread widely."
In the early years of the Liu Song Dynasty, the Lingbao Scriptures expanded to as many as 55 volumes. Lu Xiujing revised and supplemented 35 of the more credible ones, establishing ritual rules and regulations, which led to a growing number of Lingbao Sect believers and the widespread popularity of Lingbao teachings.
The Lingbao Sect attached great importance to talismanic rituals, religious education, and fasting ceremonies, strengthening its religious function of exhorting and saving the world, and advocating the universal salvation of all people.

In terms of cultivation methods, the Lingbao Sect absorbed the strengths of the Celestial Master Dao and the Shangqing School, becoming a highly influential Taoist school from the late Jin Dynasty to the early Song Dynasty.
Since the Jin and Yuan dynasties, the Lingbao Sect has taken Gezao Mountain as its main mountain, becoming an important branch of the scripture-and-talisman-based Taoist schools.
