The Primordial Redemptive Eastern Peak Incarnation Scripture FULL NAME IS
Its full name is The Wonderful Scripture of the Mysterious Codes, Imperial Edicts and Incantations of the Incarnate Dongyue for Saving Lives, Redeeming Sins, Resolving Grievances and Protecting Lives, Spoken by the Primordial Lord of Heaven. The author is unknown.
Titles of the Dongyue Great Emperor that emerged in the Ming Dynasty appear in the text, so it should have been compiled during the Ming Dynasty.
It consists of one scroll and is included in the Supplementary Daoist Canon.
It is also recorded in the Shi Collection of A Compilation of the Essentials of the Daoist Canon.
The scripture fictitiously depicts the Primordial Lord of Heaven expounding the Dao to four Perfected Ones—Jinhua, Yuqing, Miaole and Jiuku. It propagates the idea of karma and retribution, stating that all beings in the mortal world who disbelieve in the karmic retribution of good and evil, commit misdeeds and offenses will be examined and judged by the gods of the Five Great Mountains. They will suffer poverty and disasters in this life, and sink into hell to endure slaughter and dismemberment after death.
If one chooses an auspicious time, donates money to erect an altar, offers incense and lamps, and invites Orthodox Unity Taoist priests to pray devoutly, pledging allegiance to the Great Emperor of the Eastern Peak (the Lord of Birth and Heaven Equalizing Benevolent Sage Emperor) as well as the Four Sage Emperors of the Southern Peak, Central Peak, Western Peak and Northern Peak, then the nation will be peaceful, the people will live in happiness, disasters will be dispelled, blessings will descend, sins will be absolved, and suffering will be avoided, thus saving the living and delivering the departed.
The scripture further states that reciting this text can bring peace to the world, redemption from sins, elimination of disasters, promotion in official positions, increase in wealth, the birth of offspring, prosperity of the family, resolution of afflictions, and salvation of the deceased—granting all wishes as desired.
