The Celestial Aureate Primordial Decalogue FULL NAME IS
The Text of the Ten Initial True Precepts of the Void Sovereign Heavenly Venerable
The author is unknown; it was probably compiled in the early Tang Dynasty. This set of precepts was already mentioned in Collected Precepts of the Three Caverns by Zhang Wanfu of the Tang Dynasty.

It is a single scroll, incorporated into the section of Precepts and Commandments under The Dongzhen Section of The Daozang.
The precept text is pseudonymously attributed to the discourse of the Void Sovereign Heavenly Venerable, and was intended for newly initiated Taoist priests—hence the name "Initial True Precepts". The ten precepts generally exhort people not to be disloyal or unfilial, not to harbor secret malicious plots, not to kill living beings, not to indulge in lechery and corrupt one’s true nature, not to frustrate others’ successes, and so on.
A supplementary commentary is appended after each precept, elaborating on the essential meaning of the precept.
