Lie Xian Zhuan — 師門 (Shi Men)
列仙传·師門
原文 Original Chinese
Shi Men was a disciple of Xiaofu, and he could also control fire; he ate the flowers of peaches and plums. He served as a dragon master for Xia Kongjia, but since Kongjia could not follow his wishes, he was killed and buried in the outer fields. One day, winds and rains welcomed him; when it ended, all the trees on the mountain were burned. Kongjia offered sacrifices and prayed to him, but returned and died along the way — a testament to the enduring power of cultivating the Tao.
原文 Original Chinese
Shi Men controlled fire; its blazing power was fierce. He then raised the qiu long, concealing spiritual power and hidden grace. The Xia king mistreated him; his spirit remained but his body perished — reflecting the Taoist truth that the Dao transcends life and death. After the winds and rains descended, he ascended solemnly to great heights.
